The project 0016014 Intelligent organizations,
financed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, is conducting
a survey called "The Technological and Social Prerequisites
for E-democracy".
The survey is focused on recognizing processes that should
create the transition from traditional democracy of the twentieth
century into e-democracy.
E-democracy can be defined as political participation in government
by citizens with help of modern information and communications
technologies, especially the Internet. Througout the development
process of e-democracy two sorts of issues arise: firstly,
the technological issue, assumed on a fundamental level, and
secondly, an issue which we find more important, the one concerning
the social component, where potential participants showed
interest in that sort of democracy.
